Save the tools
After my mother passed away I decided that I needed to build a new shed in our backyard in Wheeling. Well it went from a small yard shed to a 10 by 14 foot workshop. I needed help building it. I asked my Dad to come down for a week to help me with the framing.
My Dad brought down his old Skil saw. And he brought an old wooden handle hammer. When I asked why he brought the old hammer, he said it belonged to his father. I recognized the hammer, it was an old Stanley. And it was the hammer he used a majority of the time to build the house in Hazelhurst.
I thought it was nice to build a shed with my father using his old tools. The same tools he used to build the house.
I asked if I could have the hammer, he said no and that I would get it when he died. But when I asked if I could have the Skil saw, he gave it to me. (I still have the skil saw). I knew that hammer was important to him.
While cleaning up the garage in Hazelhurst, I fould the hammer. The hammer that I will keep and on display in the house. (or at least in the garage).
